During my recent visit over the Isle of Wight, I caught sight of a beautiful Mallard Duck sitting on the river bank. She knew I was watching her so she quickly made her way onto the river...but before she swam away she took one glance behind and looked right into my lens allowing me to capture this stunning photo.
The sun was shining quite brightly on this day, but the waters looked quite grey so in editing I raised the shadows and the whites and slightly lowered the highlights.
I added more saturation to the reds, yellows and blues, but only around +12.
A few masks with radial and linear gradients were added and I lowered the contrast ...and this was the end result.
I was wondering around the water meadows at the park when I came upon this Pussy Willow tree. It was very quiet and the birds were singing loudly. I was trying to capture a Chaffinch, but he didn't want to be seen this day so I moved my camera over to the branches and noticed this Bumblebee hovering between the Willow...I snapped quickly and caught just him. His wings are blurry but that's what I love about this photo....it's living in the moment
It was very sunny so the photo was already bright, I wanted to make it pop a little, so I increased the brightness on the points curve around the midtones.
I lowered the blacks by half and added a lot of saturation only to the oranges.
In masking I moved the temperature towards the cool blues, but only slightly for a softer look.
